We just come back from Madrid for our latest SMART PRINT installation in Andres Castellanos-Gomez’ Lab. His lab is part of the 2D Foundry, a research group of the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM) (which is part of the Spanish Research Council).
They use nanofabrication techniques to integrate two-dimensional materials such as graphene or molybdenum disulfide into optoelectronic devices and then study their electrical and optical properties.
SMART PRINT will facilitate their task in the fabrication of these devices, especially in contacting individual 2D flakes (see picture on the right).
Andres was recently awarded by an ERC Starting Grant for his 2D-TOPSENSE project.
